I love the colors in these two rooms. I love the richness of textures and light. I love the New Traditional decor, a style that will never out date. But mostly, I LOVE the symmetry!
I am big on symmetry. And the funny things is that this is only something I've just discovered about myself. For years I've been this way, but never understood why. Until recently. I was reading a book I picked up from the Library on decorating and quickly realized that I had something in common with the author...things need to line up. Beds must be center. She understood my need for certain things to match, yet also my hate for the outdated "matchy-matchy" look. She helped my understand why this house we live in DRIVES ME CRAZY with its layout. All of these things have one thing in common...symmetry. I LOVE symmetry and she in one sentence help me realize that this is what I am all about.

Yes, that's it. I get it now. I love symmetry because it brings peace to my mind. It feels balanced and restful. No need to fuss...everything is in its place.
